6. Understanding Personality Disorders
The concept of ‘Personality Disorder’ is often
misunderstood by many professionals.
In this course we will review what is meant by
the concept of personality disorder and its
relationship to mental illness, what the various

in terms of the treatment and management of
individuals who are diagnosed as having a
personality disorder.
We will discuss the implications of recent
Government legislation relating to Personality
Disorder (e.g. the Dangerous and Severe
Personality Disorder).
The course is a 1-day workshop that will cover
